If you are planning a trip to the Northern Coast of Colombia, you’ll want to include Minca in your itinerary. Perched in the Sierra Nevada mountains is a small village overlooking the Caribbean coast. With less than 1000 inhabitants, this locale is a hidden treasure well worth the detour.
In 1980, UNESCO declared Minca a World Heritage Site, Biosphere, and Mankind Reserve. Its privileged location between bustling Santa Marta beach and the Sierra Nevada mountain ranges make it a unique site. The tropical rainforest has temperatures ranging between 62 and 75 degrees Fahrenheit and the trees reach a height of 40 meters.
Minca is home to 19 species of native birds; however, you’ll have the opportunity to see up to 162 species. These include toucans, macaws, sparrows, oropendolas and even 20 varieties of hummingbirds.

What a magical place! We had an incredible time here, the Treehouse was beautifully decorated and had everything we could need. The location is stunning, right in the middle of the jungle, it's the ideal place to unwind and connect with nature. We loved the hammock and the outdoor shower! Everyone was so lovely and went out of their way to make us feel welcome! An unforgettable experience, would recommend to everyone!
This place is amazing. The architecture is absolutely beautiful and the manager goes above and beyond. There is so much included in the stay including food, wine, yoga, hikes etc. absolutely worth it and will definitely be coming back. All you need a is a little bug spray and love for nature. Absolutely fell in love.
