Ayurveda Abhyanga Massage With Pindas
Abhyanga is an Ayurvedic procedure that involves the application of oil all over the body, following the anulomana direction (the same direction as the hair follicle). The word “abhi” means ‘all around’ and “anga” means ‘movement’. This is a profound experience that works with a person’s energy and goes beyond the physical body, understanding that according to Ayurveda the physical is only one aspect of our being. The Pindas massage is performed with natural linen fabric sachets filled with aromatic herbs, medicinal plants, rice or essential oils. These elements are heated and inserted into the sachets, which are used as a tool to perform the massage, applying different pressures and movements on different areas of the body. With the pressures, two effects are achieved: the massage effect when treating the body and the aromatherapy effect, due to the smell emanating from the elements introduced in the Pindas.
A Pindas massage provides a moisturising and detoxifying action for the skin as well as a deep relaxation for the whole organism improving, above all, stress, insomnia and rheumatic problems; also purifying the organism; relaxing and reducing muscular contractures.
