To say Selva Minca is an extraordinary place just scratches the surface of this magical space. Nestled in the middle of the jungle, it’s treehouses and towers make you feel like you are a world away and you cannot help but feel relaxed while you are there. Katrin and Mauricio are a dream. Always available and able to help with any needs or requests. They are very genuine and sweet people. I was even invited to share the birthday dinner for Katrin which was really nice! For two nights I stayed in a treehouse then I just had to experiment the tower so I extended my stay and it completely blew my mind! You feel like you are the queen / king of the jungle. My last day a group of monkeys even came out to play in the trees right in front of me. The food is incredible and very healthy. Made fresh with love for every meal. When you are here you really feel like part of the family. Daily outdoor yoga was fantastic. Katelyn guided everyone though a beautiful practice, some of the best I’ve ever experienced! There were also some “workaways” volunteering, who were bright and kind souls I am glad I got the chance to meet. It is a wonderful collective effort to make this place. I had full intentions of visiting the town but they had everything I needed and the energy was so captivating that I spent the whole time there. I feel as if I could have never even left and part of me wishes I could have stayed much longer there for my travels in Colombia. Thank you friends for welcoming me into your family. I am so grateful that the universe put these people and this place in my path.

Selva Minca is a magnificent place! Mauricio and Katrin's attention is impeccable, they make you feel at home. The facilities masterfully combine comfort and ecological living. The food prepared with fresh and vegetarian ingredients is excellent. I recommend this experience with closed eyes.

There aren’t words to truly capture the amazing experience I had during my stay. The moment I entered the tower I asked if it was available for an additional day because it was magical. I changed might flight just so I could stay one more day and it was totally worth it. The tower was large, comfortable, cozy…truly perfect. It has a king sized bed that was sooo comfortable. Luckily I didn’t have to leave it to enjoy the view because nature was right there! The personal touches and loving attention from the host, Katrin, made my stay even more amazing…just when I didn’t think my stay could possibly be improved. There was a personalized note for my arrival as well as a bottle of wine, coffee, tea and filtered water. Speaking of water…there’s hot water in the shower, which overlooks the forest. In addition to the tower, my stay came complete with a full experience including yoga on the special patio where you can hear the river running, a hike to a secluded waterfall, and all three meals which were delicious and made with love my the chef. My personal favorite was the Jamaica flower fajitas, which I had 3 times during my 4 day stay haha. Honestly, this was the best place I’ve ever stayed in. The location is truly magical and Katrin’s (the host) energy and dedication to ensuring my stay was comfortable and welcoming made me feel like family. If I could permanently move to the property I would 🙂

Selva Minca did not disappoint. It really is a piece of heaven…
Selva Minca did not disappoint. It really is a little piece of heaven, tucked away from the noise of the town. This place is really for those that wish to get away from the city life, and be amongst nature. The treehouse was cleverly designed, allowing us to open the fly screens and literally feel like we are a part of the surrounding forest. The bed was very comfortable and a good size for two people. Downstairs there is a hot water shower and bathroom that look out on to the forest, and was absolutely wonderful to bathe in. There’s also a little kitchenette, perfect for making basic meals. Although, the restaurant on the property is a great alternative for those not wanting to cook. The menu is fully vegetarian, and everything we tried was delicious. The staff was always friendly, and eager to help, and communication with the host was exceptional. The walk to and from town is beautiful and takes about 15mins there and 20mins back, and we did it almost everyday. Moto-taxi’s are available at all times for those that don’t wish to walk, and it’s takes less then 5mins to and from. Thank you Selva Minca, Mauricio and Katrin for the excellent stay, we hope to return soon.

When someplace is as magical as this place, you almost want to keep it a secrete to preserve it. The design of the accommodation is unique and innovative while the environment is wild and dense with natural flora and fauna. I love a good tree house and this place ticked all my boxes! If you get the chance, stay here!!!

Our stay at Selva Minca was spectacular! The place is very nice, calm, it connects you with nature; the treehouses are comfortable and have a kind of balcony where you can hang a hammock; it really is very beautiful. Many thanks to Katrin, she was very kind to us, she helped us get to the hidden waterfall, which is a very beautiful place and close to the treehouses. The location is excellent and not to mention the food, the menu is vegetarian, too delicious (I recommend the aubergine and vegetable lasagna). I really liked everything and of course I would go back. Many thanks also to Mauricio, always very kind!

We stayed for 3 nights at Selva Minca and we simply loved everything about it. starting with Katrin, marine biologist managing the place, with her kindness, passion for the rainforest and service. We stayed in Colibri tower, the highest one with the most beautiful view, I can't begin to describe waking up in the middle of nature and watching the sunset every night. You sleep in an open bedroom (with a roof and mosquito protector of course), you shower with a view of the mountains! Katrin took us on a tour of the project and taught us à lot about nature, plants and insects. We also learned a lot about Minca's beautiful community and the culture in Colombia. One of the waterfalls is literally 5 min away by foot. The food was spectacular, fresh and à mix of local and international dishes, all vegetarian! The Kitchen staff are extremely nice too. I can't recommend enough, it was worth every euro!

This place is immaculate- the nature, the food, the yoga and everything else in between was more than I expected. From the Santa Marta airport, the team at Selva Minca will take care of you, ensuring you get a fair priced cab and well worth having someone drive you. Houses and hikes are breathless and highly recommend going for the half day hike where you see the waterfalls! Overall an unbelievable experience and will be back for an extended stay!

Wow! Can I give this place six stars? Or go back and take a star away from every other AirBnb review that I have ever given?? Selva Minca is a truly magical place, and the bamboo towers that we stayed in are unlike any other "room" that I have ever stayed in (really more glamping than a room but spectacular none the less). Sleeping in the open air, hearing the rushing water of the river below, the noises from the jungle, waking to the sunrise were truly magical. And the tower was clean, comfortable, very special. Bathroom was also great, with an open air hot shower! We spent three nights, and experienced a variety of different activities and food offerings. I was concerned about the plant/veggie based options (as I am very much a carnivore) but they did have eggs and cheese and everything was very tasty, expertly prepared, and served with love-- especially the cayeye & cabeza for breakfast. The activities were great too. Lovely yoga on a special platform down by the river (thanks Ada!) , a quiet waterfall nearby to swim in, mud bath in the river was fun, easy access to Minca…

Can I add more stars? This was a magical stay and a highlight of my trip to Colombia. Everything was amazing - the staff, the food, the other guests, the hiking, the treehouse, the shower - I could go on and on. I am already planning a return trip!

This place is incredible. There are no words for the experience you will have from staying at this place. It is beautiful. I would like to say I love the vegetarian menu they offer! I had a vegetable lasagna and it was that rich it tasted so much like lasagna! Every member of staff is very friendly.

The place is beautiful, as seen in the photos. Everyone's attention was great and the food in the restaurant is exquisite. For those who prefer to cook, the cabin has the necessary elements to prepare simple things. We only did it with breakfast. It must be taken into account that the cabin is in a humid forest environment and is the closest to the river of all those offered in Selva Minca, factors that may affect the stay. The contact with nature is spectacular and we can only think about returning to this hidden paradise.

An immersion in the jungle, with all possible comforts! First of all, the idea of having windows with a view of the jungle, both from the side and from the front, seemed to me something from another world. In addition, (human) silence allows you to hear all the sounds of nature: water, cicadas, birds at dawn... Who wouldn't want to go to sleep with that lullaby and meditate in a place like this the next day? Also, the bed is super comfortable. And since the temperature drops at night, the additional blankets seemed a plus. I was able to cook my extra snacks in the cabin... And the welcome board with my name and the wine... top!! Rather, there are not enough words to describe the place and the kindness of Mauricio, Katrin, Celmira, Juan... In addition, the menu is varied and with a homemade and delicious flavor (like mom's food). Attention, because once you enter, you don't want to get out of there!!!!

My stay at Selva Minca was perfect. The place is idyllic and everything is done so that you feel comfortable, rest and enjoy this beautiful nature well preserved by everyone in the place. Katrin and her team were very welcoming, very responsive in communicating with me and attending to my every need or request. I would recommend this place of rest a few minutes from Minca.

With Mauricio and Katrin you will never feel lost, since before your arrival they will be watching over you and your family to guide you on the right path. In the place they will treat you with a very familiar atmosphere. The staff is very willing and prepared to give you the best. They will always advise you to make the most of your stay in Minca. You will feel like you are sleeping in heaven. It has a spectacular sunrise with the song of nature at its best, the sound of the river is very relaxing. If you want to disconnect a bit from the usual and find yourself and nature, this is the right place. Finally, the outdoor bathroom is spectacular. (Super private)

Incredible architecture with amazing views! If you’re looking for a romantic getaway this is it. The beds were very comfortable with soft linens and the outdoor shower was amazing! The staff is very friendly and accommodating. Kat was a great host and her knowledge and passion for the renewal of the rain Forrest is amazing! If you have the opportunity to do the morning yoga please try it, and hike to the hidden waterfall! It’s worth the trip!

Our host Kathryn was very knowledgeable and accommodating. It felt like we had a Ritz Carlton costumer service. The food is AMAZING! Fresh vegetarian dishes prepared right in front of us. So delicious!!! Can’t wait to come back!

This was our 2nd stay at Selva Minca. Actually it's the only time I've stayed in the same airbnb twice. Because it truly is as magical as the pictures look, we had to go back. If you are on the fence at all about booking this, just do it. You will not regret it.

My boyfriend and I initially booked 2 nights in one of the towers and after just a few hours we decided we wanted to stay longer. Unfortunately we couldn’t stay as long as we wanted due to availability, but luckily we did get another night. We absolutely loved to relax on the couch and in the hammock with the amazing views and sounds of nature. Mauricio and Katrin did everything to make our stay as comfortable as possible and we would definitely return if we ever come back to Colombia. Thanks for everything 🙏

This journey was simply perfect
This journey was simply perfect for what my girlfriend and I needed : a sweet escape in nature. The morning yoga session was amazing! Katherine, the co-owner, is a biologist and is very respectful of the environnement in which this house as been built. She was welcoming and thoughtful. The guide who brought us to the cascade and the mud bath was also very kind, dedicated and made this a special moment. The Tree House is well-thought : the open shower, the hammock, bar on the edge to enjoy the view and a rollout couch to enjoy nature’s relaxing sounds. Seriously, just book it. You cannot regret it.

Ever felt on top of the world? You will if you stay here. Access to the property is easy, with paved road and ample parking. The tower’s architecture is truly amazing. Room accommodates a couple with two kids comfortably. Open yet private it’s a perfect blend with nature. Probably among the more memorable places we ever stayed at. Don’t think twice, book it.

A very beautiful, peaceful oasis
A very beautiful, peaceful oasis. A break away from the stress and monotony of life. Every evening when the sun faded from the sky. The whole rainforest would break open up in chorus of song. The fresh air and sounds of nature automatically relaxes the soul and enchanted me to interesting dreams each night. Hikes through the forest; swimming in the nearby waterfalls & visits to the nearby chocolate & coffee farms were just some of the many things offered. But what was truly amazing was the cuisine that the chef whipped up every day. I tried almost everything on the menu!!! My family & I did not get a chance to do everything we wanted even though we stayed 5 days but we will return!! All of the Staff and especially Kat were amazing and quickly became family!! We will definitely return to this amazing oasis in the rainforest!!! ❤️

Spent 4 nights in the treehouse and loved it, spent much time chilling out on the bed or balcony with the doors open. really enjoyed it and was a good birthday well spent for my partner. was nice having some cooking facilities as once your back at the treehouse you likely want to spent the evening in.

I had such a memorable stay here, needed a little weekend getaway and it was absolutely perfect. Kat the host was so lovely and helpful! All the staff were absolutely lovely and I felt so at home. Also love how eco friendly this property is, you can tell how much love goes into it! It was a dream treehouse to wake up in with everything you could need! Perfect staycation in nature.

My time in Minca was so beautiful because of my stay in the treehouse! It was so unique and special from the moment I stepped in I felt like I was in a home away from home. Katrin and the rest of the staff made sure I had everything I needed from everything from food to hikes. The property itself has a beautiful river where I could swim and even a waterfall close by. Katrin took me on a tour around the property showing all of the local plants and flowers. I loved every minute of my stay here and would recommend anyone looking for am extra special place in Minca to book here. Well worth the money.

We stayed in the treehouse and it was just beautiful. The atmosphere of the place is very relaxing and the cabins were constructed with a lot of thought put into the design and offer all comforts needed even though you are so close to nature. Considering the location this felt almost luxurious and the hot shower outside on the lower deck of our cabin while looking into the jungle was definitely a highlight. Communication with the hosts was great as well as they always replied quickly and helped us with all our requests. Many activities are offered for free such as hikes and yoga and many books and games are available in the beautiful restaurant/ hang out area as well. The vegetarian food is home made and delicious and a nice change from the typical Colombian dishes. The only downside is that if you want to go to the town of Minca you have to pay for a mototaxi or walk about 30 min. Overa we had a wonderful and very relaxing stay here in Minca and will definitely recommend this to other friends and travellers.
I wanted to connect more with nature
I wanted to connect more with nature, I wanted silence, I wanted to connect with mother earth, but my expectations were far exceeded. Well, I don't want to spoil the surprise, but from the moment you enter the reception, you already know and sense how special your days there will be. The reserve is on the banks of the river, in a forest with ancient trees with abundant vegetation and singing birds. During the day, the walls become windows that open in a zig zag, in such a way that you are integrated and immersed in the vegetation, as if you were on an observation deck where you can reach and touch the trees. Contact with nature is direct and very special. Celmira's food is made with so much love and dedication that it nourishes the body but also the spirit. Lovely. It is difficult to decide the activity of the day, since all the options are wonderful. The trails of the Reserve, learning about botany and our relationship with the land left me with great teachings. The bath in the river was totally energizing, the pure water from the Sierra recharged me, the medicinal mud mask is a beautiful gift for our skin, the best exfoliation. The kindness and excellent attention of the entire human team made me feel at home, never like in a hotel, it is a big difference. I take them in my heart. I will be back, for sure!

The cabin is a wonderful place to spend a few days and disconnect
The cabin is a wonderful place to spend a few days and disconnect from the outside world. The property is not far from the town and you can walk to waterfalls nearby, but you don’t really need to. Waking up to an orchestra of birds and cicadas, going for a dip in the river and practicing yoga in the middle of the forest were my favorite things to do in Minca. The only thing that was a bit of a disappointment was the kitchen, which was very basic and not enough to cook a simple meal. Eventually I was able to use an electric stove from the neighboring cabin to make eggs or pasta. That said, the staff was willing to provide anything I needed, like pots and pans, and quick to respond. Also the food offered at the restaurant is good and not expensive. A heads up for digital nomads: wifi is not available in the cabin, just in the restaurant/reception area, but the cell service works well (I used my phone data most of the time). I would say this place is more suitable for a short retreat like stay 🙂
This is the perfect place to stay for a few days
This is the perfect place to stay for a few days, a few weeks, or longer. The places are equipped with basic kitchen amenities, perfect for making meals to save on travel costs. There’s also an incredible kitchen on site, with a fully vegetarian/vegan menu. Despite not being either, I regularly enjoyed meals there, as the food was delicious. As for the room, the beds are large and comfortable, with lots of lighting options for late night reading. Instead of walls on two sides, the cabin is equipped with retractable screens, good for being open in the day, and keeping the bugs away at night. The beds are also fully encased in fly netting, so bugs are never a problem. The shower provides hot water and looks out over the jungle. It’s amazing to take a private shower, while at the same time feeling like you’re part of the natural surroundings. Mauricio and Kat are great hosts, always a phone call or text away, and really seem to care about the people they host. As the place is about a 5 minute taxi out of the main town (about a 15 minute walk), all you can hear is the sounds of the jungle wildlife, and the rushing river below. I can’t recommend this place enough, and decided to turn a week long stay into a month.

What a beautiful experience!!! The tree house was magical and everyone was so nice. The walk to the town is not far and there were lots of little restaurants. The pizza cafe next door (Ijak) was delicious and the owners were so nice! The wifi did not reach the room which is great to unplug but would be an issue for my fellow digital nomads trying to work with a view. 100% recommend!

The host Katrin is always available to help out with anything you may need to make sure you make the most of Minca. The food is also very good, with great vegetarian options.

Magic, magic, magic! If you are connected to nature or are looking to be this is the perfect place to come and leave the busy world behind. Take some deep breaths and go inward to find peace and serenity. This is more like a retreat than an Airbnb , it is delightful!
Tree house was a great experience
Tree house was a great experience. It is an open concept so be prepared for ants and obviously mosquitos. Walk down is a bit of a trek so be sure to have a light and shoes with grip. Regular luggage isn’t ideal to carry either. Airbnb is about 1mi from the center city. We walked most of the time, but not ideal after sunset. Also lots of incline. Overall Airbnb location beautiful. Food was great and tours were also offered. Katrin was very responsive and brought us flashlights when our light when out in the shower.

This place is a must see if you like to connect more with nature and its surroundings. The treehouse is beautiful and well equipped! We loved waking up to the sounds of the birds. The yoga classes were great as well! However, I was not very fond of the communication. I felt like I was asking too many questions. We extended our stay with 2 more nights because we loved the calmness. But they never offered to provide us with clean towels, though everything gets wet during the night because you’re still in the forest. Also, they don’t really have drinks at the restaurant. Not even juices during the day. We decided to get meals at the place next doors, Siembra.

It's true that there are no words to describe the feeling of sunrise in the midst of the lush nature of Selva Minca. Stayed in the tower, this space has all the amenities one might need, keeping in touch with the environment, which made me lovely. On the first floor there is a kitchen space, dining room and balcony, on the second floor is the spacious and comfortable room with its bathroom and with a spectacular view. On the third floor there is a viewpoint where you can enjoy the sunset and an almost 360 degree view. Everything was super clean and tidy. Mauritius's attention was more than accurate and timely. Facilitating the check-in and check-out process and all the info to do. Katerin and the other people who take care of them were always willing with the best attitude. There are many activities, yoga, hikes, or just enjoy nature and the peace of this place with such a good vibe. The food is delicious! I recommend going down to the ravine and getting in for a bath of nature. Thank you Mauritius for providing this experience. I want to go back!

AMAZING. If you’re looking to be in the mountains relaxing, hike, swim in the river, or do yoga, this is the place for you. The views were impeccable. They offer restaurant service which is very good(all vegan)! Everyone was very nice and welcoming. We saw a lot of pretty birds from our room alone. Something to be aware of: we left the doors open for some time and a lot of mosquitoes got into the room. Fortunately there is a net around the bed to be able to sleep comfortably. After all, this is Mother Nature ☺️
Spectacular Place
The bird nest was incredible, spacious, beautiful construction, a very comfortable bed. It is also suitable for families because it has a sofa that can be a made as double bed! The room has beautiful views, perfect for birdwatching. Very friendly staff. The walk to the hidden waterfall is beautiful, Katrin, who is biologist, tells you a lot about the plants, trees and animals. And do yoga, sunset yoga on the rooftop and morning yoga on the beautiful river side. Take a fresh swim after. We love this place. Highly Recommended!
